Welcome

Welcome to SEAVIEW! We call our house Seaview because Suzy’s Dad was born on the island of St. Kitts in the West Indies and lived in a house overlooking the Caribbean …….and it was called Seaview.

Our Seaview overlooks the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.  All of the bedrooms and the living room have a beautiful view of the sea.  We like to sit on the front porch and rock and watch the clear blue water and the dolphins in the mornings and late afternoons (binoculars provided).  The beach is a short 150 steps walk down the adjacent beach access path.  We want your visit to be very enjoyable so we have provided beach chairs, sand toys, & umbrellas in the outside storage closet. After a sunny day of play on the sugar-sand beach, return to Seaview, wash off in the enclosed outdoor shower and relax for a while in the private pool or on one of the many lounge chairs. Afterwards, you may wish to enjoy the convenience of our outdoor charcoal grill or you may choose to dine in one of the many fine restaurants in the area.

The beach at St. George Island is miles of soft, white sand and never crowded….one of the top 3 beaches in the U.S.  It’s the place to go when you want to read a book, sit and relax, and just get away from it all.  Or you can go for long walks on the beach enjoying the waves lapping at your feet.

There is a large pool area/side yard that we hope you will enjoy.  The pool area includes a fire pit-–buy firewood and marshmallows close by and sit outside in the evening listening to the sounds of the ocean and feeling the cool breezes.  Or sit in the hot tub admiring the swaying palm trees and viewing the incredible nighttime sky.  In the daytime, you can sit in the sun or in the shaded area under the house to enjoy the pool.  Of course, we have safety gates up so small children will not be able to enter the pool area unaccompanied.

This professionally decorated, child friendly luxury beach house has tall 10’ ceilings, four bedrooms, and three and a half baths.  There are two masters with king sized beds, one with Jacuzzi tub and the other with  a huge shower.  There is a bedroom with two XL twin beds and a Queen Bedroom.... and a Pak N Play allowing for a total of 8 adults/children + an infant (bring baby sheets), Booster seat and 3 safety gates. There are  multiple TVs and all are “smart” TV’s , some with Netflix.

The upstairs kitchen, dining and living area is completely open and spacious.  The kitchen is fully equipped with sharp knives and pretty dishes.  Get up early and sip a cup of coffee on the porch while you watch the sunrise.   Families can enjoy their meals at the dining table which seats eight.

Seaview is located across from the bike path  that offers a safe place for bicycling, running, skating, and even walking. We are about  a mile from downtown St. George Island shops, seafood vendors, and Piggly Wiggly Express (an small but well-stocked grocery store with fresh seafood, meat & breads) as well as Sparks Family  Fresh Market Grocery. Rentals are available for boats, bicycles, kayaks, sailboats, on the island.  Guided fishing & boat tours of the surrounding river and bay areas, as well as Little St. George are available.  Award winning St. George Island State Park takes up the entire eastern end of the island and offers hiking, kayaking and sunbathing  in a pristine undisturbed beach setting.  The Island and nearby Apalachicola offer old town charm, excellent restaurants serving fresh seafood, and plenty of specialty shops to explore.  Apalachicola is one of the  National Trust for Historic Preservation “Dozen Distinctive Destinations.”

The National Estuary Preserve is located a short walk behind Seaview off of Pine Street at E. 6th Street.   Here you can find beaches into the bay, wildlife and lots of nature trails.  Look for great blue herons, kingfishers, bald eagles, snowy egrets, white ibis and ospreys among lots of other birds.

Fishermen will thrill at the abundance of fish waiting to be caught on the beach, by boat or on the 1/2 mile St. George Island pier.  There is a large fish cleaning table to help prepare them; all you have to do is catch them.

If you have to work while you are here, we offer high-speed wireless internet access, and a small office.

Pets are NOT allowed.  For the enjoyment and health considerations of all our guests, smoking is NOT permitted.

We want to share our home with you and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.  If there is anything that you need, please email us and we will see if we can provide it.  We want you to be happy and we want you to come back.
